Great idea. Keeping the glass full by reminding yourself of the distinction between empathizing and comparing sounds like a good practice we can all put to practice.

This post is so helpful. Especially your ‘Empathize don’t Compare’ point. Sometimes I have a tendency to be completely drained by terrible news stories because I can’t just empathize with those who have been victimized, but I always seem to keep comparing it to my life. It completely drains the water from my glass. I’m going to save this post and read it the next time I feel myself doing that again.
