I really had a wrestling match with this one, Alison. The list I tried to make sounded so trite. “Go to a new beach.” was my best effort. Sigh. I was a little down about it, then went to my meditation class and opened up to counsel from my higher, or deeper, Self.

“Live aloha. Just be, and be open, and see what comes up.” is what I received. Hmmm, that’s not the same as making a list, but OK. I’ll give it a try. That was mid-June.

Since then: I’ve gone for a soul retrieval and past life regression – both healers being referred out of the blue. I’m now studying with one and going back for further regressions with the other. Both who are becoming friends. I was invited to a drumming and gong shamanic journey circle. Signed up for an upcoming shamanic experience day with Hank Wesselman and his wife, Jill. And I’ve had a couple of amazing experiences at my regular meditation class.

In my personal relationships, more summer joy. I wrote a letter of love and appreciation to my father, then took him out to breakfast and read it to him. (Thankfully I read it in the parking lot afterwards, I ended up getting pretty choked up.) I took my grandson out to a book store and bought him an arm load of books of his choice. I was in contact with, and cheering on, a friend who went to New York City to face her fear of big cities and ended up having a transcendent time, coming out of it empowered and renewed. Met my best friend and brother in Berkeley for cold drinks and warm conversation. Spent a weekend in Santa Cruz for a family gathering and graduation and witnessed a double rainbow around the sun that lasted through most the graduation ceremony. (High expectations for that class.)

All this while working full time! It’s now the end of July. Who knows what will show up next? But I’ve taken my hands off the wheel and released into keeping a list instead of making a list. For this summer at least, it’s working for me. How’s everyone else’s summer going? Don’t leave me hanging here alone!
